R&D Lab Technician

Position Title: R&D Lab Technician
Reports to: Director
Location: Belcamp, MD
Job Summary:
Responsible for the execution of well-defined tasks such as operating simple lab mechanical equipment, producing models and prototypes in model shop and production samples, preparing samples, initiating tests, and recording test results in defined formats.
Job Duties:
Supports continual improvement and research as directed.
Conducts research and analysis on assigned subject matter.
Organizes data and presents it in a clear and concise manner.
Executes experiments in both laboratory and production settings.
Supports engineer, chemists and tech leaders as directed in a team setting.
Programs and operates prototype making and laboratory testing equipment.
Prepares samples for internal use and as customer samples.
Records data from tests and be able to input data in computer software.
Keeps a clean working environment and professional relationship with co-workers.
Using suitable methods and a flexible interpersonal style to help build a cohesive team; facilitating the completion of team goals. Encourages open communication with and among team members.
Poses no direct threat to the health or safety of himself/herself, of others, or to property. Defined as a significant risk of substantial harm that cannot be eliminated or reduced to an acceptable level by reasonable accommodation.
Requires regular attendance to perform essential element as contained herein between the assigned start and end times for work.
Performs such individual assignments as management may direct.
Establishes and maintains effective work relationships within the department, the Corporation and the community; and maintains the professional competence, knowledge and skill necessary for the satisfactory performance of all assigned responsibilities.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma
Previous use of basic mechanical equipment
Previous experience with Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Ability to operate lab equipment and perform mathematical functions
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
Preferred Qualifications:
Associates Degree
Previous experience in Quality or R&D environment
ASQ or other nationally recognized quality certifications
Technical experience in an industrial or consumer product environment

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
