Process Planner

SUMMARY: The Process Planner position supports the operations of the Engineering Department in a variety of tasks. The employee is primarily responsible for creating new items, building BOMs, and assigning work-centers/operations, based on inputs from Sales, Product Engineering, and Operations. ERP and PLM software will be used to manage changes and reviews/approvals. In addition, the Process Planner is responsible for providing support for other functions within the Engineering Department and the Engineering Manager as needed.
In support of engineering functions, notifies the Sales department in a timely manner of any discrepancies and questions regarding new item creation requests.
Where information or corrections are required by Sales, regularly follow up to insure that manufacturing orders are created in a timely manner.
Coordinate with Scheduling and Operations to determine the correct facility and work center of new manufactured items.
Maintain accurate Item Master, Bill of Material and Routing/Assembly Instruction records in the ERP software to support the creation of manufacturing orders and changes to specifications.
Identify and attach technical drawings to corresponding item.
Determine and apply spoilage factors utilizing a combination of calculations, historical information, sound judgment, and knowledgeable resources.
Provide daily and weekly analysis of assigned metrics associated with job functions.
Assist with the taking of physical inventory including data entry (when required).
Recommend specification changes that improve performance, efficiency, cost and delivery.
Attend the meetings and supply information regarding pending change orders and new item creation.
Assist the Engineering Department as directed.
Perform other duties which may be assigned by the Engineering Manager.
Coordinate and support the efforts of all other departments and facilities including Sales, Operations, Quality, Purchasing, Scheduling, Materials, and Accounting/Finance.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: An Associate Degree in Business Administration and two years of related experience in a manufacturing environment is the preferred prerequisite. Other combinations of education and experience may be considered. A working knowledge of the lithography process is preferred.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: The Process Planner will:
Possess the ability to apply basic mathematical concepts in problem solving and calculations.
Possess the ability to understand and use statistical concepts.
Be proficient in the use of fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
